Kenyans will face higher electricity bills this August following EPRA's announcement of tariff adjustments. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has added Ksh4.70 per kWh to electricity charges for August meter readings.

• The total increase includes a Fuel Energy Cost Charge of Ksh3.51, a Foreign Exchange Fluctuation Adjustment of Ksh1.1777, and a WRMA levy of Ksh0.015 per kWh.
• The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) attributed the rise to increased costs in electricity generation and imports from July.
• This decision comes shortly after Kenya Power warned of potential cost increases due to the integration of variable renewable energy sources.
