The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is working to ensure the continuity of its HIV programme following two decades of significant support from the United States through a health partnership.
- KDF is developing a roadmap with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) to sustain critical health interventions as external support declines.
- The partnership, which began in 2003, has supported the KDF HIV Programme through the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research–Africa (WRAIR-A) and HJFMRI.
- This transition comes as Kenya has achieved an almost 80% reduction in new HIV infections since 2010.
