The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is working to ensure the continuity of its HIV programme following two decades of significant support from the United States through a health partnership.

KDF is developing a roadmap with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) to sustain critical health interventions as external support declines.
The partnership, which began in 2003, has supported the KDF HIV Programme through the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research–Africa (WRAIR-A) and HJFMRI.
This transition comes as Kenya has achieved an almost 80% reduction in new HIV infections since 2010.
