Health Cabinet Secretary Adan Duale highlighted key health sector reforms at the 2026 Kenya Health Summit, focusing on advancements towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The summit, themed ‘Reforms Delivered, Health as a Right,’ saw the deployment of 862 specialised medical equipment units across 44 counties.
Key initiatives discussed include the distribution of over 42,000 digital health devices and the onboarding of 32.3 million Kenyans by the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Further reforms include a Ksh10 billion investment in KEMSA to improve medicine availability and the recruitment of 5,000 additional nurses and midwives.
