The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Busia Governor Paul Otuoma over alleged hate speech and incitement.

Gachagua is being investigated for statements made between July 25 and July 28, 2026, in Meru, and also on February 23, 2026, at Gusii Stadium.
The NCIC is the commission conducting the investigation.
Otuoma was summoned for alleged inflammatory utterances made on June 27, 2026, in Bulanda.
