The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has enacted significant reforms to bolster patient safety and advance Universal Health Coverage in Kenya.

• PPB has licensed 15,679 pharmaceutical professionals and 11,141 premises, alongside introducing the first Good Pharmacy Practice Standards.
• Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, CEO of the PPB, highlighted the digitization of services through Practice360 and Facility360, enabling easier verification of licensed pharmacies.
• The board has intensified post-market surveillance, leading to 95 arrests and the closure of 48 non-compliant premises, while also expanding adverse drug reaction reporting to all 47 counties.
