Six Nakuru County officials and a private vendor have been charged with alleged procurement irregularities totaling Ksh50 million for a land purchase intended for a health center.

• The accused face charges including conspiracy to commit an economic crime, wilful failure to comply with procurement laws, and abuse of office, related to a project initiated between October 2019 and October 2020.
• The implicated officials include the Chief Officer in the Department of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning and the Acting Director of Supply Chain Management Services.
• This case follows a wider scrutiny of procurement practices within the Nakuru County Government, with a separate EACC investigation into alleged irregular contracts worth over Ksh120 million.
