Kenya has unveiled a new police uniform, a move spearheaded by the National Police Reform Taskforce chaired by retired Chief Justice David Maraga.

• The new uniform was officially launched by President William Ruto at the National Police College Main Campus in Kiganjo, Nyeri County.
• The decision to change uniforms was based on concerns raised by police officers regarding the quality, suitability, and professional identity impact of the previous deep blue uniform introduced in 2018.
• Key recommendations from the Maraga Report included the introduction of maternity uniforms for expectant officers.
