Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has ordered an immediate investigation into the alleged abduction of Standard Group Media editor Alex Kiprotich. He was reportedly taken by armed men in Gilgil on Tuesday night.

• Alex Kiprotich, an editor at Standard Group Media, was forcefully taken by four masked, armed men.
• The Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has tasked the Anti-Abduction Unit to investigate the incident.
• Kiprotich was later found unharmed near Masinga Dam, approximately 200 km from the abduction site.
