The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 12 female applicants for the position of a female non-Member of Parliament (MP). The commission also rejected applications from six male candidates for this gender-specific role.

• Among the 12 shortlisted are former MPs Dennitah Ghati, Professor Jacqueline Oduol, Fatuma Ibrahim Ali, and Sunjeev Kaur Birdi.
• The vacancy arose after the term of former non-MP Commissioner Rachel Ameso Amolo expired.
• Interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled for September 10, 2026, with the PSC aiming to ensure compliance with Article 127 of the Constitution.
