Kenya's State Department for Labour and Skills Development is set to certify a record 3,727 informal sector workers through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) initiative, integrating them into the mainstream economy.

• This marks the largest RPL graduating cohort to date, supported by the World Bank under the NYOTA project.
• The initiative aims to formally recognize skills acquired through workplace experience for approximately 18 million workers in Kenya's informal economy.
• Alongside certification, new digital platforms like the Fundi Locator App and NSSF's revamped Haba Haba savings platform are being launched to enhance employment and financial inclusion for these workers.
