Trade ministers from the Horn of Africa have established a new regional committee to eliminate trade barriers and boost cross-border commerce.

• The Horn of Africa Initiative (HoAI) Regional Trade Facilitation Committee will coordinate reforms to make trade more efficient.
• Key figures involved include Kenya’s Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui and fellow ministers from participating countries.
• The committee will spearhead the implementation of a five-year HoAI trade facilitation road map, aiming to increase intra-regional trade and deepen economic integration.
