Residents and traders displaced by Kenya Railways projects in Laini Saba, Kibra Constituency, have appealed to the Senate for intervention regarding stalled resettlement programs and incomplete housing and trading facilities.

Only 256 out of 1,432 residential occupants and 583 out of 833 business occupants have received promised housing and stalls.
Petitioners, led by Victor Wamae and MCA Davidson DNG Ngibuini, highlighted issues like lack of basic amenities (water, sewerage) and deplorable living conditions in handed-over units.
Concerns were also raised about stalled Phase Two construction at Jamhuri due to alleged funding shortfalls and the inadequate size and location of some constructed market stalls.
