Residents and traders displaced by Kenya Railways projects in Laini Saba, Kibra Constituency, have appealed to the Senate for intervention regarding stalled resettlement programs and incomplete housing and trading facilities.

• Only 256 out of 1,432 residential occupants and 583 out of 833 business occupants have received promised housing and stalls.
• Petitioners, led by Victor Wamae and MCA Davidson DNG Ngibuini, highlighted issues like lack of basic amenities (water, sewerage) and deplorable living conditions in handed-over units.
• Concerns were also raised about stalled Phase Two construction at Jamhuri due to alleged funding shortfalls and the inadequate size and location of some constructed market stalls.
