The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has raided a facility in Kimosop Central, Baringo County, uncovering a cache of suspected illicit ethanol and tobacco. One suspect is currently on the run following the operation.

  • Seized items include 9 jerricans (30 litres each) and 40 sachets (200ml each) of suspected ethanol, along with 6 kilograms of tobacco, valued at Ksh 226,292.
  • The operation was conducted by KRA enforcement officers acting on intelligence.
  • A secret underground room beneath a bathroom was discovered, used to conceal the illicit products, which represented approximately Ksh 170,212 in lost taxes.
