Two separate road accidents in Kisii and Machakos claimed the lives of 10 people on the night of Wednesday, September 16.

• Five people were killed and 13 injured in Machakos when a shuttle collided with a trailer on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
• Another five people died and several were injured in Kisii when a lorry rammed into traders and pedestrians.
• Kisii Governor Simba Arati confirmed the Kisii incident and directed immediate medical attention for the injured.
• Authorities are investigating the cause of both accidents, with the Kisii Governor also calling for a diversion of heavy trucks from the town center.
