Thousands of Kenyan teachers will receive improved healthcare benefits under the Social Health Authority (SHA) following months of complaints. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale announced the enhancements after a meeting with teachers' unions and the Teachers Service Commission on Thursday, September 17.

• The improvements address concerns regarding access to services like in vitro fertilisation (IVF), oncology treatment, and chronic disease management.
• Key stakeholders included the Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, the Social Health Authority (SHA), and teachers' unions, including KUPPET.
• SHA currently has 7,031 contracted healthcare facilities nationwide, with efforts underway to expand specialized services.
