The University of Nairobi has maintained its status as Kenya's top university in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, placing in the global 1,601 to 1,800 band.

• University of Nairobi ranked as Kenya's leading institution, followed by Kenyatta University in the 1,801-2,000 global band.
• The rankings, released on September 30, 2026, cover 2,297 universities across 118 countries.
• Globally, the University of Oxford retained the top position for the 11th consecutive year.
