Intern nurses dispute recall as Duale insists graduation is key for posting
CS Duale Addresses UHC Nurses and Organ Trafficking Allegations - August 2025
Cabinet Secretary Duale has issued multiple warnings and statements regarding the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program and an alleged organ trafficking scandal. He confirmed that UHC nurses will face vetting before permanent employment and threatened to reclaim fraudulently earned money from those posing as UHC nurses. Duale also threatened to revoke the Kenyan citizenship and potentially deport Dr. Swarup Mishra, owner of Mediheal Group of Hospitals, over an alleged organ trafficking scandal and involvement in organ harvesting. Additionally, 306 intern nurses have been declared unqualified by the Ministry of Health, despite working for weeks, leading to a dispute, with Duale insisting graduation is a prerequisite for posting.
