Kisumu Road Accident Death Toll Rises to 26 - August 2025

A tragic road accident in Kisumu, involving a school bus from AIC Naki High School, has seen its death toll rise significantly. Initially, 21 people were reported dead after the bus overturned at the Coptic Roundabout on the Kisumu-Kakamega highway on Friday evening. The fatalities increased to 26 following the death of one critically injured passenger receiving hospital treatment and a new report of 26 individuals perishing while returning from a funeral in Nyakach village. The incident has prompted significant concern regarding road safety in the region.
