EACC tightens noose on corrupt governors
EACC Recommends Prosecution of Governors and Investigates Over 800 Public Officials - August 2025
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is intensifying its efforts against corrupt governors in Kenya. The EACC has recommended the prosecution of four governors, consisting of three sitting and one former official, after concluding corruption investigations. The commission also revealed it is probing five other governors and 12 Members of Parliament. In another statement, the EACC confirmed it proposed charging three incumbent governors and one former governor, while investigations are ongoing against five other current governors and ten former governors. In total, the EACC is investigating 822 public officers for their alleged involvement in corruption.
