MP Peter Kaluma Attacked and Firearm Stolen During Kasipul By-Election - November 2025

During the Kasipul by-election, Homa Bay Town MP Peter George Kaluma and his bodyguard were attacked at the Agoro Sare polling centre. Amidst the chaos, the MP was reportedly injured. Following the attack, Kaluma claimed his bodyguard's firearm was stolen by armed youths. In connection with the electoral violence, police arrested 22 suspects. Separately, 23 individuals were arrested in Kasipul Constituency after being found with machetes in their vehicles.
