KMPDC Investigates Medical Incidents Involving 17-Year-Old Girls - January 2026

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) is conducting two separate investigations into incidents involving teenage girls. In one case, the KMPDC is investigating a suspected medical negligence case after a 17-year-old girl suffered severe complications from a botched surgery at a private hospital in Kiamaiko, Nairobi. In a separate incident, the council is probing a case where a 17-year-old girl sustained severe injuries after treatment at a private hospital in Ruiru. The girl from the Ruiru incident has since been admitted to a referral hospital.
