Residents in Nakuru and Kericho Protest Poor Roads and Factory Operations - February 2026

Residents in parts of Nakuru and Kericho counties have protested over local infrastructure and industrial issues. In Tinet ward, Nakuru, residents are protesting the closure of the Chemusian tea factory, which left over 250 workers jobless after its director cited impassable roads. In another part of Nakuru, residents of Kapkembu village are urging the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) to reconstruct a road that has been in disrepair for over five years. Meanwhile, residents of Kapsuser in Kericho County are opposing the establishment of a lead-casting factory, citing grave concerns over public safety and environmental hazards.
