Kenyans Rescued from Russia-Ukraine Conflict After Being Lured by False Job Promises - February 2026
Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi announced that Kenya has successfully rescued and repatriated 27 Kenyans from the Russia-Ukraine conflict zone. According to Mudavadi, these individuals had been lured there by false job promises. The Prime Cabinet Secretary also admitted that Kenyans who died in the war were deceived with promises of different job opportunities, only to find themselves on the battlefield. These events follow escalating concerns in Kiambu after fears that a Kenyan national may have joined the Russian army. Separately, a family in Kiambu reported being in distress as their son has gone silent while in Russia.
