Government Urged to Boost Farm Mechanization for Food Security - March 2026

Kenyan authorities are being urged to prioritize and increase investment in farm mechanization to significantly boost agricultural productivity and foster national self-sufficiency in food production. Over 5,000 women and youth in Embu and Kirinyaga counties are set to benefit from a new initiative focused on climate-smart agriculture financing. The government is being encouraged to invest more in agricultural machinery to boost crop yields and achieve food security, with farmers also advised to utilize machines in their farming activities.
