Sifuna Campaigns in Four Kakamega Constituencies for 2027 Presidential Bid - August 2026

Sifuna is reportedly strengthening his influence in the Western region, posing a challenge to President William Ruto's allies as his presidential ambitions gain momentum. He has also asked Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya to back his 2027 presidential bid, while Cleophas Malala has declared support for Sifuna's presidential ambitions. This push by some ODM leaders to nominate Oparanya for the Deputy President post is causing political friction within the administration.
