Investigation and Impact of Mwihoko Plane Crash on August 7 - August 2025
On Thursday, August 7, a fatal plane crash in Mwihoko, Kiambu County, near Nairobi, killed six people. The Cessna Citation air ambulance, operated by AMREF Flying Doctors, crashed shortly after taking off from Wilson Airport, en route to Hargeisa, Somalia. Aircraft accident investigators later recovered the black box from the crashed AMREF plane, a crucial device expected to provide key insights into the cause of the accident, which also killed a daughter of a single mother, Mercy Nafula, whose home was destroyed.
