A single mother, Mercy Nafula, is appealing for help after her daughter was killed in a plane crash on Thursday, August 7, in Mwihoko. The AMREF plane, a CESSNA, crashed into their home, killing her daughter instantly and destroying their belongings.

• Total casualties stand at six: four people on board and two individuals on the ground, including Nafula's daughter.
• The aircraft, belonging to AMREF's Flying Doctors wing, was a Cessna Citation XLS en route to Hargeisa, Somalia, from Wilson Airport.
• The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) reported the aircraft lost radio and radar contact three minutes after take-off. A probe by KCAA’s Air Accident Investigation Department, Ministry of Transport, and security agencies is underway.
