A new Bill submitted to the National Assembly proposes the creation of a Privatization Authority to manage the privatization of state entities in Kenya.

• The 2025 Privatization Bill grants the proposed Authority powers to advise the state, sign contracts, and handle divestiture plans.
• The Authority's Board will include a chairperson appointed by the President, the Principal Secretary, the Attorney-General, the Managing Director, and six other members appointed by the Cabinet Secretary.
• The Bill requires the Cabinet Secretary to formulate a Privatization Programme, which must be approved by the Cabinet and either approved or rejected by the National Assembly.

Kenya will host the 25th East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Trade Fair in Nairobi from November 1 to 10.
