Kenya's Economic and Trade Initiatives - August 2025

Kenya will host the 25th East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Trade Fair in Nairobi from November 1 to 10. A National Organizing Committee has been launched to prepare for this annual event, which aims to strengthen regional trade ties and improve market access for small businesses. Complementing these efforts, the M-PESA Sokoni caravan concluded its county-wide tour of Nairobi, showcasing how digital finance is transforming the region and empowering local businesses by democratizing financial tools. Furthermore, a new Bill submitted to the National Assembly proposes the creation of a Privatization Authority to manage the privatization of state entities in Kenya, indicating a push towards more structured economic reforms.
