President William Ruto announced that every Kenyan with an income will contribute 2.75% of their salary to the new Social Health Authority (SHA) fund. The President noted his own contribution increased from Ksh. 1,700 under NHIF to Ksh. 40,000 monthly under SHA. Meanwhile, Health CS Aden Duale is facing scrutiny over the alleged loss of billions from the SHA. Instead of providing answers, he has reportedly resorted to mockery. Despite pressure from Members of Parliament to step down over the health insurance fraud scandal, CS Duale has declared he will not resign.
