Investigations Confirm Gunshot Wounds Caused Deaths at Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums - October 2025

Post-mortem examinations have confirmed that individuals killed at the Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums died from gunshot wounds. The fatalities occurred during mourning ceremonies for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, with reports indicating gunfire was the cause of deaths in the Kasarani area. Investigations into the deaths at both stadiums confirmed they were caused by gunshots. Bullets were recovered from the bodies of at least two victims, including Evans Kiche. In response, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has urged the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to investigate a shooting incident in Kasarani that resulted in two deaths.
