KALRO Launches Cassava Tech as North Rift Farmers Protest and Livestock Disease Spreads in Nandi - November 2025
A new technology for disease-free cassava seedling production that involves growing seedlings without soil has been launched by the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO). KALRO states this method could revolutionize cassava cultivation. Meanwhile, dairy farmers in the North Rift region are protesting against the Kenya Co-operative Creameries (KCC) over alleged delayed payments totaling Sh300 million. In Nandi County, the Agriculture Department has imposed a quarantine due to the widespread outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) among livestock.
