President Ruto Directs Crackdown on Politicians Using Goons and Hooligans - December 2025

President William Ruto has issued a stern warning against leaders using hooligans to advance their political agendas, ordering a crackdown on these individuals. He directed Inspector General Kanja to take decisive action against politicians who employ individuals to incite violence or cause chaos, particularly during political campaigns. The President stated there will be no more hooliganism and instructed the police to act firmly and decisively against gangs used by politicians to cause chaos at political rallies. This directive applies to any groups of hooligans disrupting peace in the country. In line with the President's order, CS Murkomen has vowed to crack down on “goons” indiscriminately and without fear.
