Multiple Fatal Road Accidents Reported as Government Launches Festive Season Safety Measures - December 2025

A series of fatal road accidents have been reported, indicating a rise in road carnage. A deadly crash in Homa Bay County resulted in the deaths of 10 people. In a separate incident, a community in Kakamega County is mourning ten people who died in an accident in the Kodada area while returning from a wedding. Similarly, a newlywed couple is grieving the loss of the bride's parents, who died in a road accident shortly after leaving the wedding celebration. In response, the government is implementing immediate measures for the festive season, with traffic offenders set to face instant justice. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has also launched a road safety sensitisation campaign in Nanyuki to curb accidents.
