Former Lugari legislator Cyrus Jirongo died from severe blunt force trauma sustained in a high-impact road crash, according to findings from a pathologist representing his family. The post-mortem examination revealed extensive injuries consistent with a violent collision.

• Pathologist Dr. Joseph Ndung’u confirmed Jirongo suffered multiple fractures, a severe chest crush injury with ruptured heart vessels, and a transected spinal cord.
• Jirongo, 64, died in the early hours of December 13, 2025, in a head-on collision with a Climax Company Ltd bus on the Nakuru–Naivasha Highway.
• The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is questioning individuals who last interacted with Jirongo and reviewing CCTV footage, including his movements at an Eagol Petrol Station moments before the crash at 2:19 a.m.
