A legal battle is emerging in Kenya's courts over the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki seeking to cross-examine a cardiologist regarding an affidavit detailing President William Ruto's phone call during Gachagua's hospitalisation. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has issued an apology to residents of the Mount Kenya region concerning the impeachment. Separately, Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democratic Change Party, criticized President William Ruto during the Africa Forward Summit, directing his accusations at United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron.
