Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democratic Change Party, has criticized President William Ruto during the Africa Forward Summit, directing his accusations at United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron.

• Gachagua called the summit a "sideshow" and labeled President Ruto a "threat to regional stability."
• He accused the Ruto administration of colluding with foreign governments in the alleged abductions of political dissidents, citing the cases of Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye and Tanzanian journalist Maria Sarungi.
• Gachagua also alleged the irregular diversion of approximately Sh7.3 billion from Kenya's Fuel Levy Fund to pay French firms for a cancelled highway contract.
