Kenya has activated its national Ebola preparedness and response systems due to ongoing outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, with all levels of public health operations on alert and rapid response teams stationed around the clock. Kenya has intensified traveler screening and surveillance at all entry points to prevent importation of Ebola Virus Disease, having screened 34,500 travellers so far. The United States government has mobilized Ksh3 billion in foreign assistance to combat the Ebola virus outbreak, primarily focusing on Uganda.
