Mitsumi Distribution has launched a $2 million investment in an artificial intelligence (AI) cloud platform aimed at supporting Kenya's emerging tech talent.

• The initiative was announced at the AI Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya Summit.
• It's primarily a corporate social responsibility effort by Mitsumi Distribution.
• The platform will provide affordable access to AI infrastructure for university graduates, software developers, and early-stage tech entrepreneurs, lowering barriers to entry for building and scaling AI applications.

Samsung has officially begun rolling out its One UI 8.5 update to various Galaxy devices, starting on May 6.

• The update has started reaching flagship devices including the Galaxy S25, S24, S23 series, and the latest foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 7 and 6 series.
• Samsung initiated the rollout in Korea and is gradually expanding to other markets, with availability varying by region and model.
• Several mid-range Galaxy A-series models, such as the Galaxy A56 and A36, along with Galaxy Tab S11 series tablets, have also begun receiving the update, indicating it's not exclusive to flagships.
