African electric mobility firm Spiro has successfully secured a substantial $215 million (Sh27.8 billion) equity investment to significantly expand its electric vehicle operations and battery-swapping network across the continent. Kenyan tech company Bensystems Limited has launched UrbanTok, a new social media platform centered on creator monetization, during the Connected Africa Summit 2026 in Nairobi. Ride-hailing platform Bolt has strongly refuted claims circulating on social media about its alleged exit from Kenya next week, labeling the reports as false and malicious.
