Kenyan tech company Bensystems Limited has launched UrbanTok, a new social media platform centered on creator monetization, during the Connected Africa Summit 2026 in Nairobi.
- UrbanTok aims to provide African content creators with direct revenue streams, including local currency payouts and an integrated e-commerce marketplace, UrbanDuka.
- The platform was unveiled in the presence of over 20 ICT ministers, including ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo and Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui.
