African electric mobility firm Spiro has successfully secured a substantial $215 million (Sh27.8 billion) equity investment to significantly expand its electric vehicle operations and battery-swapping network across the continent.

• The funding aims to deploy 100,000 electric vehicles and 2,500 smart-swap stations.
• Key investors include Impact Fund Denmark and Equitane, alongside Spiro's Founder and Chairman, Gagan Gupta.
• This investment will support expansion into new markets like the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia, building on current operations in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon.
