Political parties in Kenya are experiencing disruptions due to elected leaders frequently switching allegiances, a trend that has intensified ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Orange Democratic Movement is also facing challenges with its nomination process and is seeking to learn from seasoned political parties in South Africa and Ghana to address these difficulties. At the same time, Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe convinced colleagues to shelve the Tea Amendment Bill, 2023, after failing to declare his directorship in three tea companies during the initial debate.
