The Motorists Association of Kenya has criticized EPRA's Sh0.22 per litre petrol price reduction as "insulting". KeNHA has announced a 24-hour closure of a section of Mombasa Road for footbridge beam installation. Energy CS Wandayi warns that drastic fuel price reductions could collapse oil marketing companies and disrupt the economy. He also noted that Kenyan consumers will not see immediate fuel price drops despite Middle East stability following the Strait of Hormuz reopening. EPRA has reduced diesel prices by Sh10 and petrol by 22 cents.
