KeNHA has announced a partial closure of Waiyaki Way near the Westlands Roundabout for three months, starting June 25, 2026.

• The closure affects the Nakuru-bound carriageway between Karuna Close and Westlands Roundabout until September 25, 2026.
• The restrictions are to facilitate the extension of an existing pedestrian footbridge at Dunhill Towers and the construction of a new one between Fogo Gaucho and QuickMart Westlands.
• This is part of ongoing efforts by KeNHA to improve pedestrian safety on busy routes, with similar closures also announced for sections of Mombasa Road.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) will implement partial road closures on Waiyaki Way and Mombasa Road in Nairobi for footbridge construction and expansion works.

• A section of Waiyaki Way (Nakuru-bound) between Karuna Close and Westlands Roundabout will be closed for three months from June 25 to September 25, 2026.

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Davis Chirchir has announced that the phased modernization of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is set to be completed within three years, with an estimated cost of Ksh 155 billion.

• The comprehensive upgrade project is divided into three main components: airfield improvements, existing terminal renovations, and the construction of a new terminal building.
• The project involves Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and is financed through a partnership with Trade Development Bank and the African Finance Cooperation.
• This initiative aims to significantly increase JKIA's passenger capacity to approximately 22 million annually, positioning it as a regional aviation hub.
