ODM Removes Edwin Sifuna as Secretary General - June 2026
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has, for the second time, removed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna from his position as Secretary-General, following a report from an internal dispute committee. The ODM National Executive Committee has officially confirmed the removal after internal conflict. Sifuna has announced his intention to challenge his removal from office by the ODM NEC in court, stating he will be returning to court to fight the ouster bid. Separately, President William Ruto has declared his intention to secure a 2027 election victory, participating in a significant political tour in Kirinyaga alongside Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, while Lands CS Alice Wahome has urged Nyandarua residents to actively support government development projects and vote for the UDA candidate in an upcoming by-election.
