Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen confirmed the notification for June 25 protests, urging peaceful demonstrators to identify and disassociate themselves from criminal elements. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is separately advocating for June 25 to be declared a national public holiday named "Liberation Day" to honor the Gen Z protests of 2024. Meanwhile, youth from Embakasi, Nairobi have issued a warning to protesters, urging them to refrain from destroying property during the upcoming Gen Z demonstrations. ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga has also urged the police to protect demonstrators planning to commemorate the June 25, 2024, Gen Z protests, emphasizing that police officers are employees of the people and should facilitate peaceful protests.
