Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sharply criticized Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and President William Ruto, labeling Nairobi a "city of shame" due to alleged lawlessness, corruption, and failing public services. The criticism comes amid ongoing governance challenges in the capital. In a separate development, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf is urging for enhanced political and financial commitment to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia, citing the risk to security gains if sustainable funding is not secured. Separately, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe issued a stern warning that antimicrobial resistance, fueled by the improper use of veterinary medicines, poses a significant threat to Kenya's public health and could lead to the country being barred from global meat markets.
