The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has initiated a nationwide boycott of courts, bringing legal proceedings to a standstill across Kenya. Advocates are demanding comprehensive reforms, greater accountability, and renewed public confidence within the Judiciary. Lawyers in the Mt Kenya region have joined the boycott, amplifying calls for systemic changes. The boycott specifically targets judges accused of using court orders to obstruct corruption investigations. Meanwhile, President William Ruto has ordered a decisive crackdown on criminal elements responsible for recent unrest and violence, addressing concerns about goons threatening national stability. The Anglican Church of Kenya has also urged the government to take concrete action against escalating goon-related violence, rather than issuing mere pronouncements.
