Members of Parliament (MPs) have rejected a proposal by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to impose new speed limits on highways, citing concerns about worsening traffic congestion.

• NTSA currently uses an automated system with over 1,000 traffic cameras to enforce existing speed limits, issuing fines up to Ksh10,000.

A proposal to establish a new roadside station at Salgaa has been received by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) as part of the ongoing Rironi-Mau Summit Highway construction.
